Four habits for what you watch, read and save.
15 October 2026 · 4 habits · by the Lifeable team
Leisure has its own clutter: the show everyone mentioned, the half-read book, forty open tabs, the restaurant you loved and can't name. These four habits keep the good things findable, so free time starts with a choice instead of a search.
1. Keep a watch and read list
End the twenty minutes of scrolling for something to watch.
Deciding what to watch eats evenings. Keep a list of films, books and shows people recommend, and pick from it when the time comes.
- Add three things friends recommended
- Pick one for this weekend
- Rate it when you finish
Less searching, more enjoying.
2. Finish what you started
The half-read book is waiting.
Too many open books and series feel like homework. Look at what you're in the middle of and choose: finish it this week, or let it go without guilt.
- Look at what you're in the middle of
- Pick one to finish this week
- Move the rest back to the list
Finishing feels good.
3. Save links with a note why
"Why did I save this?" never again.
Saved links pile up and lose meaning. Add one line on why you saved it — a recipe for Sunday, an idea for a gift, a read for later — and give it a tag.
Save it with a reason, find it with ease.
4. Remember the good ones
That restaurant, that hotel, that dish — do it again.
We forget the places and experiences we loved. When something is good, mark it to do again: the restaurant, the trip, the walk. Next time you need an idea, it's there.
Good memories, ready to repeat.
